Find out more about our auction winners Black Powder Experience, and how to get your own!

In August 2022, the winners of a Black Powder Experience auctioned at last year's annual fundraiser claimed their prize! The auction winners, alongside some of our major donors and supporters, were welcomed to Chipping Norton Rifle and Pistol Club for a day of fun and shooting hosted by archaeologist and BBC presenter Peter Ginn, known for his work on the Historic Farm series.

The group had the opportunity to shoot Brown Bess muskets and period pistols, alongside reenactors from the Coldstream Guards and 95th Rifles reenactment groups in their iconic uniforms, with coaching from weapons experts. After getting the hang of it, and after a delicious buffet lunch, the day culminated in an exciting competitive shoot off! Once the weapons were safely stored away, the group were treated to champagne and wine and beer imported all the way from Waterloo.

Thank you to our auction winners and major donors for their generosity and continued support of our work! We'd also like to say a big thank you to Chipping Norton Rifle and Pistol Club for hosting this amazing event, and the Coldstream Guards 1815 and 95th Rifles Reenactment Groups for their continuous support and making the day truly special.
