Waterloo to Waterloo Cycle
This September, join, support or sponsor the cyclists riding an epic 250 miles from Waterloo Station, London to the Battlefield of Waterloo, Belgium to raise money for veterans and serving personnel!
Get ready for a visually stunning journey on the Waterloo Uncovered Charity Bike Ride! Starting at London Waterloo station, this epic three-day journey will travel through some of Europe’s most beautiful cycle routes before finishing at the iconic Lion’s Mound Memorial on the Waterloo Battlefield. Every mile promises breathtaking coastal views and historic landscapes, all for an amazing cause that will make a real difference to veterans’ lives. And don’t worry - there will be plenty of time to enjoy the excellent Belgian beer and food!
The £600 rider fee includes accommodation, a ferry journey to the Netherlands, transport back to London (via Eurostar from Brussels), bike transport, over £1,000 worth of high-quality cycling kit, a celebratory party on the last night, and plenty of other treats along the way.
Each participant has a £1,000 fundraising target, although many smash this target to help us reach our goal for veterans and serving personnel!
Waterloo Uncovered is the groundbreaking charity combining a world-class archaeological project on the Waterloo battlefield with expert veteran care and recovery. Each year we continue to grow and expand our scope of work, all while using archaeology as our primary tool to improve the wellbeing, education and recovery of veterans and serving personnel, many of whom have experienced mental or physical impacts from their service.
The Waterloo to Waterloo Cycle team aim to raise at least £60,000 through their epic 250-mile challenge to support our four veteran support programmes which will support dozens of veterans this year.
Every donation will help Waterloo Uncovered provide support for more veterans and serving military personnel, using discovery to aid recovery as we explore the Waterloo battlefield.
This year’s Waterloo to Waterloo Cycle gives you the chance to design and have your logo displayed on a set of high quality cycle kit!
Your logo will be featured promininently on a day’s kit as 50 riders travel through the UK, Netherlands and Belgium, stopping for visits
and photo opportunities at major landmarks, restaurants and breweries. The kit will be seen across organisers’, participants’ and companies’ social media accounts with audiences of tens of thousands, and will be seen in major financial industry magazines such as Citywire and Portfolio Adviser.
Participants, who will include successful business owners and influencers, will continue to wear the high quality kit long after the cycle has finished. Past kit sponsors include Wellington Management, Crux Asset Management, Banca Mediolanum and TAM Asset Management.
