How to Fundraise Online

Fundraising online is simple, even if you’re not the most tech savvy!

The majority of our fundraisers use JustGiving, but there are a variety of online fundraising platforms out there. If you’re having technical difficulties or need advice on online fundraising, let us know at fundraising@waterloouncovered.com and we will try our best to help you!

How do I make a JustGiving fundraising page?

Head to JustGiving to begin making your page.
You’ll be asked who you are fundraising for – select ‘a Charity’ to start.
Next, you will be promoted to log in, or to make an account if you’re new to JustGiving.
Search for Waterloo Uncovered in the list of charities to begin fundraising for us.
You’ll be asked for some details about the activity or challenge you’re taking on.
Pick a target – it doesn’t matter how big or small – as studies show that fundraisers with a clear target raise up to 46% more than ones that don’t!
Add some pictures – fundraising pages with pictures tend to raise more.
Once you’re happy with your page, you’re ready to go! Your fundraising page is all set up and you’re ready to start accepting donations.

What’s next?

Share your page with friends and family and on social media to spread the word!
Don’t be afraid to share updates on how you’re getting on – regularly updated fundraising pages raise more money on average.
Money given via JustGiving goes straight to us without you having to do anything, but you may also be collecting physical donations at activities like pub quizzes and car boot sales. You can add these to your total using the ‘offline donations‘ feature.
